S. Korea, US and Japan Map Out Next Steps on N. Korea
Top officials from South Korea, the United States and Japan met Tuesday in Washington for the first time after the death of Kim Jong-il to talk about their next move regarding North Korea.
Not much information has been released as of yet, but reports say during a day of closed-door meeting, South Korea's envoy to nuclear talks on North Korea, Lim Sung-nam along with his Tokyo counterpart Shinsuke Sugiyama and U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for East Asia Kurt Campbell touched on the issue of food aid to North Korea as they reviewed the situation in the communist nation.
They also discussed ways to ensure close coordination on North Korean policies.
Our foreign affairs correspondent Choi You-sun is following this story and will bring us an update in our noon show.
