S. Korea-US Discuss Prospects of 3rd Round of Nuclear Talks with N. Korea Updated: 2011-12-08 00:00:00 KST

Glyn Davies, the newly appointed US Special Representative for North Korea Policy met South Korea's top nuclear envoy Lim Sung-nam in Seoul Thursday morning, to discuss prospects of a third round of negotiations, with the North on its denuclearization.
The two sides are known to have assessed the North's nuclear situation, following the recent Pyeongyang-Washington dialogue, held in Geneva in October.
While South Korea, the US and Japan demand that the North first give up ALL nuclear activities before returning to the six-party table, Pyeongyang recently revealed its progress, in developing low-enriched uranium for light-water nuclear reactors.
After wrapping up his five-day trip to Seoul, the US envoy will then travel to Japan and China, to continue talks on regional security in Northeast Asia.
