Consumer Reports Rates Samsung Galaxy S2 as Top Smartphone in US Market

The US monthly magazine Consumer Reports, which reviews consumer products and services, recently put Samsung's latest Galaxy S2 on the top of its recommendation list.
The report was released after the agency conducted a series of tests showing that the Galaxy S2 topped the list on three out of four major service carriers in the US AT&T, T-mobile and Sprint.
Consumer Reports gave its top rating to Motorola's Droid Bionic on Verizon Wireless.
Verizon confirmed that it has no plans to launch the Galaxy S2 on its network, but would consider adding Samsung's "Droid Prime" to its smartphone lineup.
An anonymous industry insider says that Verizon is worried that the Galaxy S2 will not be able to compete with the iPhone 5 when it is launched.
Meanwhile, Consumer Reports also recommended the iPhone 4S but listed Samsung's Galaxy S2, Motorola's Droid Bionic and several others ahead of Apple's latest handset.
Samsung has surpassed the 10-million sales mark with the Galaxy S2 since its launch in Europe and Asia earlier this year.
