US Secy. of State Clinton Says US Waiting for N. Korea's Response to Washington's Demands On Denuclearization
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has urged North Korea to take specific steps towards denuclearization for the resumption of the stalled multilateral nuclear talks saying the US is currently waiting for an answer from the reclusive regime.
According to the US State Department on Sunday, Washington's top diplomat in Hawaii for the APEC forum told reporters that North Korea poses a security threat to its neighbors while it disregards the rights of its citizens.
Noting that Washington held exploratory talks with North Korea two weeks ago in hopes to restart negotiations stalled in 2009, Clinton said the US has made clear what it expects North Korea to do in order to get back to talks including concrete steps toward denuclearization.
