US Says N. Korea Must First Improve Relations With S. Korea For 6 Party Talks To Resume
Despite North Korean leader's remarks that he supports the early resumption of the six-party nuclear talks US State Department reiterated its stance that Pyeongyang must first improve relations with Seoul and put a stop to any further provocation.
Speaking to reporters in a daily press briefing on Thursday State Department spokesman Mark Toner said Washington's stance remains unchanged.. that the relations between the two Koreas must be improved before any further talks on the resumption of the six party talks can be made.
Meanwhile regarding US special envoy Robert King's progress in North Korea Toner said he has not heard from King since he landed in Pyeongyang.
