US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says progress to denuclearize the Korean peninsula has been and must continue to be made together with China.
In an interview with Caixin Media a business and financial media outlet based in China Clinton was asked if China's actions with respect to North Korea and Iran met her expectations.
In response Secretary Clinton said China and the US shared the same goals in non-proliferation of nuclear arms in North Korea and the Middle East and that she appreciated the work the two nations have done together to uphold United Nations sanctions.
She added that the US is particularly focused on working with China 'to prevent further provocation and nuclear weapon development in North Korea'.
Clinton's comments come as both nations wrapped up their 3rd Strategic and Economic Dialogue in Washington, D.C.
