Pres. Lee Says Existence of Nuclear Weapons Will Procrastinate Reunification Process
Staying in Berlin
President Lee Myung-bak stressed that North Korea should abandon its nuclear ambitions at an early date and open up its economy to the international community like China and Vietnam.
During a meeting with Korean residents in Germany President Lee stated that the very existance of nuclear weapons on the Korean Peninsula will procrastinate the process of reunification of the two Koreas.
He added that Germany's reunification in the past will help Korea learn from the experience and that despite looming concerns over a high cost that is likely to follow realization of a unified Korea is not too far away.
