The government on Sunday reported ANOTHER outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease, four days after lowering the alert level one notch from orange to yellow.
The agricultural ministry announced that six pigs at a farm in Yeongcheon, North Gyeongsang Province, some 350 kilometers southeast of Seoul, tested positive for the highly contagious animal disease.
The farm has been ordered to take emergency measures including the culling of the affected pigs and quarantining the area.
The first case of FMD was confirmed in late November with the latest one before Sunday's outbreak reported on February 26th.
