US Urges N. Korea to Accept IAEA Updated: 2011-03-09 00:00:00 KST

The United States has urged North Korea to stop all of its nuclear activities and accept international nuclear inspections.
The US ambassador to the International Atomic Energy Agency, Glyn Davies told the IAEA board of governors Monday that the US can not accept the North as a nuclear weapon state reiterating that Pyeongyang should immediately halt all nuclear activities.
Davies said the six-party nuclear talks could only resume after North Korea agrees to accept a group of nuclear inspectors.
North Korea expelled IAEA monitors in 2009 in light of UN Security Council sanctions for a missile test.
