Seoul Proposes to Hold Working-level Talks on Feb. 11 Updated: 2011-01-26 00:00:00 KST

The South Korean government has proposed to hold the preliminary meeting for the anticipated high-level military talks between the two Koreas at the truce village of Panmunjeom on February 11th.
In a statement by the Unification Ministry spokesperson on Wednesday, Seoul suggested the date for the working-level discussions, ahead of the actual meeting where the two sides plan to exchange views on the North's recent aggressions on its southern neighbor.
Seoul, for its part, demands that the Kim Jong-il regime take responsibility for its attacks on the warship Cheonan and Yeonpyeong Island, while vowing to take preventive measures in the future.
On the nuclear front, Seoul once again urged Pyeongyang to hold separate talks to confirm the regime's sincerity towards the denuclearization process.
