Korean Construction Sites Attacked in Libya Last Week Updated: 2011-01-24 00:00:00 KST

Several Korean construction sites in the North African nation of Libya were attacked by groups of local residents last week.
Seoul's foreign ministry says that dozens of Libyans broke into the construction sites on the 14th and 15th of January causing damage to property estimated at 45 billion won, or around 40 million US dollars.
High-priced construction equipment and building materials were looted and scores of construction workers were injured.
Authorities believe that the incidents have more to do with low-income people in the area and that they are not linked to anti-government activities.
