Chun Says S. Korea Will Not Hurry Into Holding Talks with N. Korea Updated: 2011-01-17 00:00:00 KST

South Korea's national security adviser stated that Seoul will not hurry into direct talks with the North until the communist state meets certain conditions.
In an interview with the Public Broadcasting Service in the US Chun Yung-woo said the government will not engage with Pyeongyang unless the regime owns up to a series of attacks it conducted last year namely the sinking of a South Korean naval ship and shelling of the South's island.
Chun also warned that if the reclusive nation continues to spend most of its capital on its military, missile and nuclear ambitions it would be a shortcut to the country's demise.
