The Doha-based international news network Al Jazeera is set to open an office in Seoul early this year.
The Managing Director of Al Jazeera English, Al Anstey, said in an interview with Yonhap News Agency that Korea is playing a large role in the Asian economy and in the information technology field while adding that many viewers are interested in the situation on the Korean peninsula.
Al Jazeera has more than 65 bureaus around the world, including three in Asia.
