Additional Case of Foot-and-Mouth Reported in Gyeonggi Province Updated: 2010-12-19 00:00:00 KST

An additional case of foot-and-mouth disease has been reported on Sunday in the city of Paju in Gyeonggi Province.
According to the agriculture ministry, two cows at a farm located north of the Korean capital of Seoul tested positive for FMD after showing symptoms such as fever and a loss of appetite.
All of the one hundred cattle being reared at the farm have been buried alive and authorities plan to kill some 500 more within a 500 meter radius.
This is the fourth reported case in Gyeonggi Province after pigs and cattle from farms in Yangju, Yeoncheon and Paju were confirmed to have been infected by the disease.
