A Chinese fishing boat operating illegally in South Korean waters rammed into a Korean Coast Guard vessel and capsized on Saturday killing one fisherman and leaving two others missing.
The South Korean Coast Guard said four of its officers were also injured trying to arrest the crew of the Chinese boat, illegally fishing about 120 kilometers from South Korea's Eocheong Island.
According to coast guard officials, the Chinese fishermen attacked the Korean officers with iron pipes and clubs.
Eight of the fishermen were rescued, but one of them fell into a coma and died later at a hospital.
A search is underway for the two missing Chinese crew members.
