Argentina is the latest to join a growing group of Latin American countries that are recognizing Palestine as a free and independent state.
On Monday Argentina's President Cristina Fernandez followed Brazil's announcement made three days earlier informing Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas that Argentina recognizes Palestine's 1967 borders.
Uruguay also announced on Monday that it would recognize Palestine as an indepedent state next year.
Bolivia and Ecuador are expected soon to follow.
Other Latin American nations that have already recognized Palestine include Costa Rica, Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela.
Israel called the move 'regrettable'.
