And reacting to this report that North Korea has made a major advance in nuclear technology,
Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Admiral Mike Mullen says this is a "huge concern," calling the dictatorial state a "very dangerous country."
Speaking to ABC's "This Week" anchor Christiane Amanpour late Sunday Mullen called the North Korean leader Kim Jong-il "predictable in his unpredictability" and added that the dictatorial state seems to be headed in the direction of more nuclear weapons, noting Pyeongyang's reputation as playing an active role in nuclear technology proliferation.
Speaking of the US government's dispatch of special envoy Stephen Bosworth to the region the Joint Chiefs Chairman said China will have to play a key role in dealing with the reclusive regime.
