The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Yukiya Amano, said that North Korea's nuclear program remains a matter of serious concern.
Amano made the remark at a session of the United Nations General Assembly, where he added that the communist country might be working jointly with other countries.
When asked whether North Korean or Iranian nuclear proliferation is more worrisome, he answered that the North Korean nuclear program not only affects its neighbors, but also threatens global security.
However, he also hopes that "every effort will be made towards diplomatic dialogue in frameworks such as the six-party nuclear talks."
