North Korea will never abandon its nuclear , but will boost its nuclear arsenal because of the threat from the United States.
These are the words of Pyeongyang's Vice Foreign Minister, Pak Gil-yon speaking at the UN General Assembly in New York on Wednesday.
In a rare speech by a North Korean minister on the world stage, Pak called the US, a disruptor of peace saying as long as the US nuclear aircraft carriers sail around his country, the reclusive state's nuclear arms could never be abandoned.
Declaring that its nuclear weapons are not to attack others, but purely for self-defense to counter aggression from the outside world.
The minister also said North Korea opposes nuclear proliferation but added that without its nuclear arsenal, the Korean peninsula would have been turned into a war field scores of times.
