Former US Official Arrives in Pyeongyang Amid Nuclear Standoff
A group of US experts arrived in Pyeongyang Saturday to hold discussions with North Korean officials over humanitarian aid sent by civilians.
North Korea's Central News Agency reported that the delegation led by professor Susan Shirk director of the Institute on Global Conflict and Cooperation of University of California has arrived in the capital for a six-day trip.
Shirk also served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State during the Clinton administration.
The delegation's visit comes amid signs that the US and the North are seeking to restart the stalled six-nation talks.
