The US will continue to impose sanctions against North Korea's possible nuclear activities.
State Department spokesman Philip Crowley said at a briefing on Wednesday that the US will continue to enforce the UN Security Council Resolution on North Korea which was adopted after Pyeongyang's nuclear and missile tests last year.
On the issue of the North's recent condemning of US-South Korea joint military service Crowley said the US has an important alliance with South Korea and the joint excercises "should not be a surprise to the North."
