Korea's Nuclear Technology to Debut in Turkey
Korean-manufactured nuclear reactors will be making their debut in Turkey as the two countries have agreed to join hands for a nuclear power plant project in the Eurasian country.
The Ministry of Knowledge Economy said Wednesday the state-run Korea Electric Power Corporation and Turkey's government-owned EUAS have signed a Joint Declaration to export Korea's nuclear reactor technology to use the APR1400 reactor model in the construction of a power plant in Turkey's Sinop region.
The official announcement came from the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in his closing speech for the Korea-Turkey Business Forum held in Istanbul.
This marks Korea's second nuclear deal for Korea after winning a 40-billion-US-dollar project last year from the United Arab Emirates.
