China's FM Expresses Hopes for N. Korea's Return to 6-Party Talks Updated: 2010-03-07 00:00:00 KST

China's foreign minister Yang Jiechi has expressed optimism that North Korea will return to the six-party talks aimed at denuclearizing Pyeongyang.
While attending the National People's Congress meeting in Beijing Yang said that he believes as long as members of the multilateral talks stick to the common goal of denuclearization and keep the lines of communication open the six-party talks can be restored.
China's top nuclear negotiator Wu Dawei, meanwhile told Japan's NHK on Saturday that the Chinese government has urged countries involved in the denuclearization process to take action for the quick resumption of the stalled talks.
Wu added that while no countries have replied yet he is working to coordinate relevant nations so that the talks can resume by the end of June.
