A recent study shows. one out of every ten Korean teenagers may be suffering from eating disorders.
In a survey of seven-thousand students between 13 and 19 years of age conducted by Korea Food & Drug Administration about 13 percent were classified as potentially anorexic or bulimic.
The administration points to teenagers' excessively strict standards on weight and delusional fears of obesity as the main reasons behind the disorders.
The administration plans to cooperate with local education authorities to come up with counselling programs.
