After holding nine rounds of trade negotiations the European Union has concluded free trade agreements with Peru and Colombia on Monday.
The trade deal is expected to boost exports of European industrial products, including cars, to the Latin American countries while Peru and Colombia will be able to increase exports of agricultural goods to the EU.
Peru's Trade Minister Martin Perez called the deal successful and forecasted the trade accord to be implemented as early as 2012.
Meanwhile the EU is set to strengthen its economic ties with South America by finalizing trade talks by May at the earliest with Mercosur which are Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay.
