Finance Minster Yoon Jeung-hyung says the nation's economy will likely expand by five percent this year.
Addressing lawmakers at the National Assembly on Tuesday, the minister also said growth was minimal last year and that growth this year should return to levels seen before the start of the global financial crisis.
Touching on the recent uncertainties in the world economy such as the credit default risks facing some European countries compounded by China's moves to tighten expansionary measures minister Yoon says a large part of the risks were somewhat expected and warned against both groundless optimism and excessive pessimism.
