Daegu Temperature Hits Record High

It's only the beginning of May but certain parts of Korea are already experiencing summer-like conditions with highs soaring above 30 degrees Celsius.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration the temperature in Daegu the capital of North Gyeongsang Province, hit a record high on Saturday reaching 34.4 degrees almost 10 degrees higher than the seasonal norm.
Officials at the weather agency say a high pressure system extending from Jeju Island is what's causing early May to feel like summer throughout much of the nation.
