The time is here for World Sports and as we reported yesterday, the anticipation for the Champions League final match is very high with just hours away from kick-off, and we do have the results of the NHL Eastern Conference final series and tragedy to one of the most legendary boxers of all time.
First, let's take it to Rome, Italy
Some bad news in camp Barcelona, head coach Pep Guardiola will be forced to field a makeshift rearguard in the final match against Manchester because Eric Abidal and Dani Alves are suspended and to make matters worse, central defender Rafael Marquez is injured.
It's expected that the captain Carles Puyol will go to right flank and Yaya Toure will be at center back among a list of other switcharoos but Guardiola seemed confident at a news conference in Rome
[Interview : Pep Guardiola, Barcelona Head Coach] "In the finals there is always the element of all-or-nothing. We must go out there and play -- to show what we have done all season. We are going to try and control the ball and play football."
Guardiola did in fact awknowledge the strength of Manchester, speaking of which.
Sir Alex Ferguson has strong belief that his team could enjoy even greater success as Man-U is looking to become the first side to retain the European Cup since the Champions League started in 1992.
Manchester United has decided wearing all-white as white is the colors of Barcelona's arch rivals Real Madrid
The last time Barcelona faced a team wearing all-white, they beat them six-two, something Ferguson laughed about
The Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Carolina Hurricanes four-one and swept the NHL Eastern Conference final series and booked a return ticket to the Stanley Cup finals
The Penguins basically trashed the Hurricanes four-nothing in the series and will meet either the Chicago Blackhawks or defending champions Detroit Red Wings who took the Stanley Cup from Pittsburgh last year with a score of four-two
Detroit currently leads Chicago three-one in their Western Conference seires and chances are there may be another Pittsburgh-Detroit battle in the near future
Former boxing heavyweight champion Mike Tyson's four-year-old daughter died after she was found with a treadmill cord around her neck following a freak accident
Exodus Tyson was pronounced dead just before noon after being on life support.
Police said Exodus either slipped or put her head in the loop of a cord hangin under the console of the treadmill.
Officers and firefighters performed CPR as they took Exodus to the hospital and was in critical condition when the got her to the emergency room but unfortunately could not pull through
Sad news to end the night with.
I'll see you tomorrow with more Good night everyone
