Mask Dance Festival Attracting Visitors To Andong

Autumn has signalled the start of many traditional folk festivals here in Korea.
At the Andong Hahoe Folk Village in North Gyeongsang Province the festive mood is at an all time high with daily folk band processions and mask dance performances.
The Andong International Mask Dance Festival which was designated as the representative festival of Korea earlier this year is in full swing.
Now in it's 12th year the international festival will feature special dance performances by eight countries including Russia, Japan and Thailand.

[Interview : Ahn Eunsook, Resident
Andong ] "The program this year is great. The music naturally makes you want to dance and the interactive aspect is great for the children as well."

According to the organizer of the festival it is expected to attract over one million visitors this year.

[Interview : Kim Hweedong, Mayor
Andong ] "Our annual festival is all about bringing people together through dance, music and food."

This year the event will also include various mask performances that incorporate drama and dance plus a world mask exhibition.
For those who are interested hurry down because all of this will come to an end on October 5th.
