Korea's number one soju maker Jinro is up against some competition.
Jinro's sales in January dropped 25 percent on year while its rival Doosan saw its sales jump almost 9 percent.
That gave Doosan a market share of almost 13 percent for the month TWO percent better than last January.
But that still paled in comparison to Jinro's 42 percent share which the dominant player is holding on to even after a 9-percent slide for the month.
Industry watchers blame a price hike by Jinro last December for the shift in trend.
