The number of Korean nationals studying at universities in the US reached a record high of 75-thousand for the 2008-2009 academic year.
The Institute of International Education in the US reports the number of Korean students enrolled in about 3-thousand colleges in the country increased by nine percent from the previous academic year.
The figure accounts for more than 11 percent of the total number of international students in the US which is the third largest.
India topped the list with over 100-thousand students followed closely by China.
The total number of foreign nationals studying at American universities is roughly 670-thousand up eight percent from the 2007-2008 academic year.
