The ruling Grand National Party says the controversy surrounding Sejong City the planned administrative hub in the nation's central region should stop until the government comes up with an alternative plan.
GNP floor leader Ahn Sang-soo said in his speech to the National Assembly that the debate over whether to go with the initial plan of relocating government bodies to Sejong City in the South Chungcheong region or to revise it does not benefit anyone.
He also spoke of the merits of the four-river restoration project that the Lee Myung-bak administration is pushing for and urged measures to deal with other issues such as those related to North Korea and the country's dwindling birthrate.
