As for the President's position on the Sejong City plan
President Lee said in a meeting with Chung Mong-joon, the Chairman of the Grand National Party that party members should thoroughly discuss issues regarding Sejong City now under construction in the country's central region.
According to the GNP's spokesperson, President Lee said matters concerning the fate of the administrative city must be decided after careful consideration.
In response, the GNP Chairman said the town must be built to provide substantial benefits to both the people of Chungcheong Province and the nation.
Chung added that his party will play an active role to fulfill this goal and set up a body within the party to examine the issue.
