Govt. Releases Guidelines to Battle H1N1

What exactly is the H1N1 virusmaintaining personal cleanliness for prevention of the flu advising everyone to wash their hands frequently and to cover their nose and mouth when sneezing or coughing.
The health minister said those who experience symptoms of fever, runny nose, sore throat, or coughing should immediately visit a nearby medical center.
Some other signs include nausea, fatigue, lack of appetite, diarrhea and vomiting.
She added that those diagnosed with the virus should receive antiviral medications, Tamiflu or Relenza, available at local pharmacies from October 30th and asked those in high-risk groups, namely pregnant women, people with chronic illnesses, infants, or those over the age of 65 to wear masks when going out.
The antiviral drugs, if taken within 48 hours of transmission, are known to be fairly effective.
No sign of flu-like symptoms seven days after taking the medication means the virus has been fully treated.
And with students between the ages of 5 and 17 making up close to 80 percent of the H1N1 patients in Korea, the minister advised teachers to dismiss students suspected of the virus and parents to keep children home if they seem to have symptoms of the flu.
The minister encouraged medical staff in Korea to actively prevent further spreading of the virus by distributing antiviral medications to suspected H1N1 patients even without a full check-up.
