Meanwhile on Tuesday a pair of crested ibis adopted from China last November saw their second newborn at the Upo Crested Ibis Restoration Center in South Gyeongsang Province.
The chick will be taken to a nurturing facility within the center to join the first newborn from the pair.
The mother bird laid six eggs in total this year and the first hatching took place last Monday.
The crested ibis is an endangered species and to better conserve these birds extensive captive breeding programs are under way in neighboring China and Japan as well.
