Saturday marks the birthday of the Buddha and Koreans nationwide celebrated it at about 20-thousand temples nationwide.
Around 10-thousand people gathered in Seoul's Jogye Temple to hold traditional services.
Jogye is Korea's largest and most influential Buddhist order.
In East Asia, the Buddha's Birthday is celebrated on the eighth day of the fourth month in the Chinese lunar calendar.
The head of the order Venerable Ji-gwan said those who support unfortunate neighbors will be Buddhas in the future.
