Korea's Asiana Airlines has agreed to pay a 50 million dollar fine to the US government for conspiring to eliminate competition by fixing rates on both cargo and passenger fares between 2000 and 2006.
The US Justice Department says two other international airlines namely Nippon Cargo Airlines and Cargolux Airlines International have also agreed to plead guilty and pay fines for their roles in a cargo price-fixing scheme.
The cases arose from an investigation into the air transportation industry in the United States and 15 airlines and three executives have been prosecuted so far.
