3 Koreans Selected for TIME's Annual Poll

The race has begun to determine TIME magazine's annual 100 most influential people of the year.
And three out of more than 200 candidates in the online vote are of Korean descent.
With a good chance of grabbing a spot on the list for the second time, Korean pop sensation Rain, better known as "Bi" in Korea, is currently second in the rankings.
The 26-year-old singer made the list for the first time three years ago, as he was gearing up to expand his music and film career in the United States.
Meanwhile, a Korean-American school chancellor in the Washington DC area, Michelle Rhee, ranks 56th.
The 39-year-old reformer of the American public school system gained bipartisan support for closing down failed schools and firing underqualified professionals.
Another notable name is Korean-American research scientist Jeff Han, one of the main developers of touch screen technology used for smartphones.
Other strong contenders are US President Barack Obama, talk show host Jon Stewart and Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin.
