Smithsonian Uses East Sea and Includes Dokdo Islets for Map of Korea
The Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in the US is now using the term "East Sea" for the body of water between Korea and Japan.
A new map of the Korean peninsula in its Korea gallery also includes the Dokdo islets replacing an old version that only showed the names of South and North Korea.
Being the world's largest natural history museum the new map is expected to help visitors get a better understanding of Korean territory.
