Starting off with domestic politics
Opposition lawmakers who have seized the main chamber of the National Assembly continued their protest for the third day on Sunday aimed at blocking the ruling Grand National Party from passing a set of controversial bills.
Over 50 legislators of the liberal Democratic Party locked themselves inside parliament's main hall to stop the GNP from ratifying contentious bills including Korea's free trade agreement with the United States by year's end.
The main opposition party is also at odds with President Lee Myung-bak's party over a media reform bill which would allow local conglomerates to own huge stakes in newspapers and broadcasters.
