Korea is considered to be one of the leading countries in shipbuilding.
Domestic shipmakers have their hands full busy keeping up with orders from all over the world fully booked for the next three to four years.
But recent findings show that despite the boom there aren't enough industrial sites to allow these ships to be built.
According to experts the situation is similar for domestic carmakers and electronics manufacturers.
To match the growing demand plans are underway to build more industrial complexes nationwide starting next year.
The new sites will be in cities like Daegu Gumi Pohang in North Gyeongsang Province as well as Seocheon in South Chungcheong Province and in and around parts of the Jeolla provinces.
Additional key sectors to reap the benefits will be steel and environment-related industries.
The government is not wasting any time implementing a new measure which speeds up the processing of construction permits by almost six months.
The measure will allocate less than one thousand square meters of land for building the complexes to public bidders while giving half the amount of land to private bidders once the site is complete.
So by 2010 or depending on how things go as early as the end of next year Korea's key export industries can expect to find it easier to get on with their work.
