Turkish President to Make State Visit Updated: 2010-06-11 00:00:00 KST

The Turkish President and First Lady are expected to make a state visit to Korea next Monday following an invitation from President Lee Myung-bak.
The two leaders will hold a summit at the presidential office of Cheong Wa Dae where enhancing bilateral trade and expanding cultural exchanges are to dominate the talks.
Presidents Lee and Abdullah Gul also plan to discuss issues related to the Korean peninsula and Seoul's hosting of the G20 summit in November.
The Turkish leader's visit holds great significance ahead of the 60th anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War this year since Turkey is often referred to as Korea's "blood-brother" having deployed 15-thousand troops during the war.
