Govt. to Levy VAT on Cosmetic Surgery, Other Services
Starting July 1st, value added tax will be levied on cosmetic surgery, veterinary treatment for pets and other services.
The government said today that the tax will apply to procedures including so-called double eyelid surgery, breast enlargement and reduction and liposuction.
Tax will also be charged at animal hospitals, athletic facilities such as health clubs and dance academies.
A pamphlet on the changes is available at public libraries and community centers.
